Page 2 <br /> Site Conceptual Model Report <br /> Project No 724 2 <br /> May 2,2006 <br /> ' • September 1999- Two additional monitoring wells, MW--4 and MW-5, were installed <br /> under the supervision of Wm J Hunter & Associates (Hunter) <br /> • November 2000- Five additional groundwater monitoring wells (MW-6, MW-7, MW- <br /> 104, MW-106 and MW-107) were installed under the supervision of Geological <br /> Technics Inc (GTI) <br /> March 2002- In GTI's March 18, 2002 "Risk Evaluation & Appendix B Closure <br /> Checklist" work plan, GTI proposed performing contaminant mass estimate <br /> calculations and limited fate and transport calculations The work plan was submitted <br /> to the SJC PHS/EHD and is necessary to receive site closure concurrence from the <br /> ' Regional Water Quality Control Board In their letter correspondence dated April 24, <br /> 2002, the SJC PHS/EHD denied GTI's work plan and directed that a work plan for <br /> additional plume definition be submitted <br /> ' • December 2003- Nine additional groundwater monitoring wells (MW-11, MW-108, <br /> MW-109, MW-110, MW-111, MW-202, MW-208, MW-209 and MW-210) were <br /> installed under the supervision of GTI <br /> • 1992 to 1999 — intermittent monitoring/sampling (18 events) of wells MW-1 through <br /> MW-3 <br /> • 2000 to present - quarterly groundwater monitoring & sampling of all site monitoring <br /> wells <br /> • January 2006- Four Cone Penetrometer Test (CPT) boreholes advanced with depth <br /> discrete soil and groundwater sampling, under the supervision of GTI <br /> *Pre-2000 data from Earth System Environmental Inc &Wm 7 Hunter&Associates documentation <br /> ' The data compiled during the course of this investigation indicate that the soil and <br /> groundwater at the subject site were impacted with gasoline range petroleum <br /> ' hydrocarbons <br /> The SJC/EHD indicated their desire to consider the site for closure in their letter <br /> correspondence dated November 24, 2004 In our "3'd Quarter 2004 Groundwater <br /> ' Monitoring Report" dated November 12, 2004 we recommended performing a Cone <br /> Penetrometer Testing (CPT) investigation to further define the cross gradient extent of the <br /> plume north of MW-108/208 and the down gradient extent east of the well set MW-109/209 <br /> ' SJC/EHD directed the submittal of a work plan to update the site conceptual model by CPT <br /> borings The work plan was submitted and subsequently approved <br /> Four CPT borings were advanced at the site in January 2006 and the information derived <br /> from that effort is used to update and complete this SCM <br />
