• 30 May 2004 r <br /> AGE-NC Project No 02-0962 ,} <br /> 'Page 4of10 _ <br /> The initial boring will be a CPT bore,the CPT will acquire a continuous lzthologic record to define ' <br /> hydrogeologic units Soil and grab ground water samples will be collected in targeted zones based <br /> on interpreted lithologic data and assessment needs Once targeted zones are identified a separate <br /> boring for each intended sample will be established immediately adjacent to the CPT borehole The <br /> CPT boring will be advanced to approximately 100 feet bsg,the boreholes utilized for sampling will <br /> have variable depths but will not exceed 100 feet bsg,the total depths of borings may vary according <br /> to hydrogeologic conditions encountered during drilling activities <br /> Ground water and selected soil samples will be analyzed by a California Department of Health - <br /> Services (DHS)-certified laboratory for <br /> • TPH-g and TPH-d, in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified, <br /> • BTEX and MTBE in accordance with EPA Method 8260, and <br /> • Oxygenating compounds DIPE,ETBE,TAME,TBA,EDB and 1,2-DCA in accordance with <br /> EPA Method 8260 Modified <br /> Laboratory reports for soil and ground water analysis, testing methods, laboratory quality <br /> assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be <br /> • presented in a report of findings and recommendations <br /> 33 INSTALLATION OF MONITORING WELLS <br /> Installation of three shallow ground water monitoring wells on the site, the locations and depths of <br /> wells maybe modified based on results from the CPT investigation - <br /> 3 3 1 Drilling and Soil Sample Collection, <br /> AGE proposes to advance three pilot soil borings at the site for installation of ground water <br /> monitoring wells,using a truck-mounted,hollow-stem drill rig equipped with 8 25-inch hollow-stem <br /> augers to advance the well borings to 35 feet bsg, the total depth of each well boring may vary <br /> according to hydrogeologic/geologic conditions encountered during drilling One boring will bei <br /> advanced adjacent to boring B4 in the area of the highest petroleum hydrocarbon concentration,one ' <br /> at the eastern portion of the dispenser area between borings B5 and B6 and one northeast of the t <br /> dispenser islands (Figure 2) - - <br /> Soil samples will be collected from within the 8 25-inch hollow-stem augers at five-foot intervals <br /> using a California split-spoon sampler and brass sleeves Selected soil samples will be analyzed by - <br /> • a State of California DHS-certified laboratory for the analytes listed iri Section 3 2 <br /> r Advanced GcoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> 1 r <br />
