Charter Way SITE CODE: 1779124
Stockton, Ca.
In a recent telephone conversation between San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental
Health Division (PHS/EHD) and Artesian Environmental, the need for further testing of certain
constituents in the groundwater at this site was discussed. This letter is to appraise you of the outcome
of that telephone conversation.
As kerosene has never been detected in soil samples obtained after the tank removal or in groundwater
samples from the first round of sampling, testing for this constituent is no longer warranted.
Analyses for lead and ethylene dibromide in the groundwater samples should be conducted in order to
verify that groundwater has not been impacted by these constituents. If these constituents are not
detected for two consecutive sampling events, analysis for them can cease. The test for lead was
included in last quartet's sampling event and was not detected above the 0.05 parts per million detection
limit. If the results are the same for this current quarter, lead can be dropped as a constituent of
concern. The analysis for ethylene dibromide can be included in the next two quarters' sampling events,
and, if not detected, it can also be ruled out as a constituent of concern.
If you have any questions, please contact Linda Turkatte, REHS, of my staff at (209) 468-0339.
Jogi Khanna, MXS.;kP.H.
Health Office
/j
aerie A.
