04 September 2007
AGE-NC Project No. 95-0121
3.0. FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a California
Professional Geologist. Procedures for well installations, sample collection, well development,
survey, DPE well configuration, DPE system set-up and testing, equipment decontamination are
j outlined below.
li 3 : 1 . PILOT BORING AND SOIL SAMPLING
AGE proposes to advance three pilot borings for installation of deep-screened ground water
monitoring wells utilizing a drill rig equippedwith8.25-inchdiameterhollowstem augers, Proposed
wells will be advanced to a depth of approximately 105 feet bsg. Actual depth may vary slightly due
P to encountered field conditions.
I
As each pilot boring and probe boring is advanced, soil samples will be collected at 5400t intervals
based upon proximity to other well installations and previous soil sample collection. Selected soil
p samples from each pilot boring will be submitted for laboratory analysis based upon field
observations and readings from an organic vapor meter (OVM). The selected samples will be
analyzed by a State of California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified laboratory for the
following constituents:
• TPH as gasoline (TPH-g) and diesel (TPH-d) in accordance with EPA Method 8015
Modified;
• BTEX in accordance with EPA Method 8260 Modified and
• Fuel additives methyl-tert-butyl ether (MTBE), tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), di-isopropyl
ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE) and tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), 1 ,2
dichloroethane (1 ,2-DCA) and 1 ,2-dibromoethane (EDB) in accordance with EPA Method
8260 Modified.
Laboratory reports for soil analysis, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality control
(QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report of
findings and recommendations.
3 .2. MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION
The 8.25-inch diameter pilot borings for proposed deep-screened wells will be completed as single-
level ground water monitoring wells screened from 95 to 105 feet bsg utilizing 2-inch diameter
Advanced Geo&nvironmenlel, Inc.
