03 August 1999
AGE-NC Project No 95-0121
Page,4 of 7
clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert
3 2 FORTY-EIGHT HOUR GROUND WATER PUMP TEST _
A 48-hour ground water pump test is proposed at the site to evaluate the feasibility of induced
- ground water draw-down in conjunction with SVE The proposed pump test will consist of a 48-
hour ground water pump(draw-down) test The proposed draw-down pilot test will be designed to
obtain general aquifer characteristics such as hydraulic conductivity, transmissivity and drawdown
at various pumping rates, the pump test will evaluate feasibility of ex-situ ground water pump and
treat as a remedial alternative Field procedures for a ground water draw-down test are presented in
Section 4 2
' r
3 3 MICROBIAL ENUMERATION AND PHYSICOCHEMICAL ANALYSIS
AGE proposes to advance two soil probe borings to determine feasibility of bioremediation at the
• site Proposed soil boring locations are illustrated in Figure 2
Based on site conditions encountered beneath the former UST area, AGE proposes advancement of
probe borings in the following locations
• Approximately 5 to 15 feet east of EW-1,
• Approximately 5 to 15 feet west of EW-1 _
Initially, each probe boring will be advanced to 40 feet bsg However, total depths of probe borings
will be based on field observations and field screening using an organic vapor monitor(OVM) Soil
samples will be collected from each boring at five-foot intervals beginning at 15 feet bsg to the total
depth Field procedures for advancement of borings and collection of soil samples are presented in
Section 4 2 -
Selected soil samples will be submitted to a microbiological laboratory for microbial enumeration
and physicochemical analysis to determine feasibility of bioremediation at the site Results of the
bioremediation analysis will provide an evaluation of natural occurring micro-organisms and
characterize physicochemical conditions at the site to support microbial growth and bioremedial
activity
Laboratory reports for soil analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality control
. (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report with
Advanced Geo£m tronmental,Inc
