Weber Ave., 3rd Floor
Stockton, CA 95202
Re: Monitoring well destruction, Independent Trucking Facility, 1145 W.
Charter Way, Stockton
The above site, owned by W. W. Miles & Patricia Nolet, has been under the
jurisdiction of the Central Valley Region of the CWQCB during site investigation
work performed over the past several years. The results of that work revealed the
presence of two (2) soil and groundwater plumes containing gaoline components
beneath the property. The sources of the plumes are at 1045 W. Charter Way,
(adjacent to the east of the site;) and 1245 W. Charter way, immediately to the
west.
We had prepared a final report for the Regional Board detailing the results of the
work, and requested site closure. On April 16, 1999, Mary Serra, Water
Resources Control Engineer from that agency, responded to that report and
outlined steps to be taken to close the site. One of those steps was the
destruction of three of the existing monitoring wells; #4, #6, and #7. We have
enclosed a brief workplan covering that task, along with a well permit application
and a check for $60.00. As soon as we receive an OK from your office, we will
request pre-approval from the Cleanup Fund staff. When that has been received,
we will schedule the work. Your office will be given at least 48 hours notice prior
to mobilizing equipment.
Your timely response to this matter will be greatly appreciated. If you have any
questions, please contact our office.
Sincer I ,
Wm. u ter
cc: John Welch
Robert Lautze
Independent Trucking
Mary Serra, RWQCB
