Charter Way <br /> Stockton, CA <br /> April 30, 1999 <br /> PURPOSE OF WORK: <br /> As a result of extensive site investigative work, it has been established that the <br /> soil and groundwater contamination encountered beneath 1145 W. Charter Way <br /> has been caused by leaking gasoline UST's at offsite locations to the east and <br /> west The responsibility for cleanup of the contamination has been assigned to <br /> the owners of those UST's, and five (5) of the eight (8) monitoring wells on the <br /> property will be transferred to those responsible parties. As instructed by the <br /> Regional Board staff, the three remaining wells, #4, #6, and #7, are to be <br /> destroyed. Refer to CRWQCB correspondence dated April 16, 1999 for details. <br /> WORKPLAN: <br /> 1. Mobilize properly licensed V & W Drilling Co. C-57 auger rig equipped with <br /> sufficient clean 10" OD augers to complete each well destruction without having to <br /> decontaminate equipment. <br /> 2. Each well will be destroyed in the manner detailed below: <br /> a) Surface box and grout will be removed. <br /> b) The 2" PVC casing and grouting material will be drilled out using 10" <br /> OD hollow stem augers. Each hole will extend 2-3' below casing <br /> bottom. <br /> c) Casing, grouting material and drill cuttings will be placed on plastic in <br /> an unused location on the property and thoroughly sealed with plastic. <br /> d) The hole will be filled with a cement/bentonite mixture pumped in place <br /> using a flexible hose or tremie pipe. <br /> e) The top 2 feet of each hole will be filled with readymix concrete. <br /> f) Each hole will be finished flush with ground level. <br /> 3.
