Weiss, Engineering Geologist <br /> CRWQCB, Central Valley Region <br /> 3443 Routzer Road, Suite A <br /> Sacramento, CA 95827-3098 <br /> Ref : First quarter 1996 Groundwater Monitoring Report and results <br /> of soil probe work done at Independent Trucking facility, 1145 <br /> West Charter Way, Stockton, CA <br /> Dear Mr. Weiss; <br /> We have enclosed a copy of the field report, results of labora- <br /> tory analysis, gradient map, and a map showing the locations of <br /> the 10 soil probes which were placed on the property between <br /> April 11 & 15, 1996 as detailed in the WJH workplan dated <br /> December 5, 1995 . The five existing monitoring wells were purged <br /> and sampled on April 11, 1996 by Del-Tech Geotechnical Support <br /> Services as directed by our office . That work includes the well <br /> placed .at the east end of the property by Nomellini Construction <br /> Co ; it is identified as MW-5 in our reports <br /> The attached PLATE I shows the potentiometric surface based upon <br /> the latest data. It is to the east; the gradient flattens from <br /> . 055/ft . at the west end of the property to . 000361 /ft at the <br /> east end. The water table was measured at an average depth of <br /> -14 . 12 ' msl datum; it has risen 3 . 831 since the last sampling <br /> event in December, 1995 <br /> The results of the laboratory analyses of water samples collected <br /> from the wells are summarized on TABLE I , laboratory worksheets <br /> are included in the report . <br /> On April 10, 1996, Charles Fry, RG, representing Wm. J. Hunter & <br /> Associates, delivered a drilling permit application and required <br /> fee to the office of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Division. After delivering the permit, he went to the site to <br /> mark the locations of the soil probes and discuss operations with <br /> Carrie Fisher, RG, from Independent Trucking Co. , the lessee of <br /> the property. <br /> DETAILS OF SOIL/WATER PROBE INVESTIGATION: <br /> On April 11, 1996, Mr. Fry arrived on site and discussed <br /> operations with TEG personel, prior to beginning work The <br /> Strataprobe unit was mobilized on location SP-1 (shown on PLATE <br /> II, ) and tools were pushed to 26 ' below grade . Soil samples were <br /> collected at 51 , 101 , 15, 20, & 25 ' by use of a modified split <br /> spoon sample barrel equipped with 1 1/211 x 61' brass tubes . The <br /> 1 <br />
