i
removed diesel UST' s & over 200 feet from the excavated septic
system, measured 0 4 ug/L of xylene and 410 ug/L TEPH from the
water sample at 221 .
The water sample taken from SP-4, located inside the property
next to the office building, and about 50 ' south of MW-1,
revealed 0 3 ug/L of xylene & 360 ug/L of TEPH.
SP-5, located in the parking area between the truck scales and
the removed UST' s, did not show any BTEX or TPHg in the water
sample, but TEPH was measured at 517 ug/L.
SP-7, located approximately 100 feet north of the removed UST' s,
and about 50 ' east from the above ground tank location, revealed
2 0 ug/L of xylene & 126 ug/L of TEPH in the groundwater sample
However, as discussed earlier, benzene, toluene, & xylene were
detected in soil samples taken at 15 ' & 20, and toluene & xylene
in the soil sample from 251 .
The water sample from SP-8, located about 30 ' north of MW-3,
measured xlyene at 0 .3 ug/L, & 327 ug/L TEPH. Soil samples taken
from this probe hole were non-detect for all tested compounds
SP-9, located about 40 ' north of the removed waste oil UST,
measured only xylene at 0 .3 ug/L; all other tested substances
were non-detect .
The water sample taken from SP-10, which was located along the
west property line and about 75 ' north of MW-2 , measured benzene
at 3 . 0 ug/L, toluene at 2 . 0 ug/L, ethylbenzene at 2 0 ug/L, &
xylene at 2 . 0 ug/L TPHg was measured at 114 ug/L, the only
other well besides SP-6 to show that compound. TEPH as motor oil
was 1640 ug/L, the highest measured in any of the 10 soil probes .
MTBE was below detection levels in all samples analyzed.
The laboratory sheets and chains of custody are included at the
back of this report .
CONCLUSIONS :
Based upon all of the work performed to date at this site, the
following conclusions appear valid:
I . Soil & groundwater are impacted over the entire area covered
by work done to date.
2 . There appear to be at two, and possibly three offsite sources
of contamination - (1) the Nomellini property to the east, which
has severely impacted the groundwater at least as far as MW-4;
5
