After reaching a depth of 381, 211 blank & slotted, flush, screw- <br />30int casing was run to 381 The bottom 201 consisted of 02011 <br />horizontal machine cut slots with a screw thread cap, the rest <br />was blank The annulus was packed with 7 sacks of #3 washed sand <br />by the same method described above The top of the sand was <br />located at 161, 2 feet above the perforations, it was capped with <br />2 feet of bentonite pellets After removing the augers, the top <br />of the casing was securely covered pending grouting operations <br />A schematic diagram of completion details is included as PLATE <br />XII -A <br />After decontaminating auger flights & core barrels, the rig was <br />moved to monitoring well ##2 as shown on PLATE X Cores were taken <br />at 5 foot intervals from 51 to 261611 using WJH field procedures <br />described earlier There were no odors or evidence of contami- <br />nation, and no response from samples screened with the PID meter <br />After the last core was taken, the augers were advanced to 381 & <br />the hole conditioned for running casing Refer to PLATE XIII for <br />details of blow counts, core recovery, lithology, and other <br />information recorded during the work <br />211 blank & slotted, flush screw-3oint casing was landed at 381, <br />the bottom 201 consisted of 02011 horizontal machine cut slots, <br />the rest was blank The annulus was filled with 7 sacks of #3 <br />washed sand as described above After verifying the top of the <br />sand at 161, (2 feet above the top of the perforations,) one <br />bucket of bentonite pellets was placed on top of the sand and <br />wetted with clean water. The top of the seal was located at 141, <br />the top of the casing sealed with a plastic cap, and covered with <br />a metal container to prevent damage Details of the well <br />completion are given on PLATE XIII -A <br />While the augers were being decontaminated, the rig was mobilized <br />over the location marked for monitoring well #1 as shown on PLATE <br />X Drilling began at 1540 hours, and the first core, from 51-61611 <br />was taken at 1545 hours. Cores were taken from 101-111611, <br />15 1 -16 1 611 , 20 1 -211 61f, & 251-261611, they were screened, described, <br />and preserved following standard field procedures as described <br />earlier No odors, visible evidence of contamination were noted, <br />and bagged portions of the core material did not give any <br />response when tested with the PID meter Refer to PLATE XIV for <br />details of lithology, blow counts, & recovery <br />After taking the last core, a tape was run in <br />indicated fluid at 251 bgl The augers were <br />and the hole conditioned for running casing <br />7 <br />the auger flights & <br />advanced to 381 bgl, <br />
