Wm. J. Hunter & Associates 2220 Loma Vista Dr.
Al,egistered Geologists Sacramento, CA 95825
roleum& Mineral Appraisers (916) 972-7941
FAX (916) 972-1683
SI'E QQHIAMINATION WORKPLAN
FOR GROUNDWATER INYESTI ATION
Independent Trucking Co
11.45 W. Charter Way, Stockton, CA
Prepared for
CALIFORNIA REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD
CENTRAL VALLEY REGION
by
Wm. J. Hunter & Associates
November 7, 1994
PURPOSE OF .KM-.
Work performed in 1992 & 1993 during excavation & removal of a
septic tank & associated leach lines on the property revealed the
presence of waste oil & related petroleum products. That work
included both excavation of the site & soil borings to define the
extent of the contamination. The soil borings revealed that both
soil & groundwater had been impacted. However, the constituents
found in water samples - primarily BTEX & TPH-G - were not con-
sistent with soil sample analysis, which contained high levels of
motor oil, diesel, & halogenated VOC' s, but minor amounts of
. BTEX. Because the constituents detected in the groundwater, high
levels of BTEX & TPH-G, were not in agreement with the heavier .
components measured in the soil, the prior consultants & the
owners believe that an offsite source of groundwater contami-
nation exists.
As a result of meetings between the owners, the lessees of the
property & staff members of the CRWQCB, it was agreed that a
workplan would be prepared to investigate the extent of soil &
groundwater contamination which is present on the site. Wm. J.
Hunter & Associates has been retained by the owners of the
property to address those issues. Copies of correspondence from
the CRWQCB are included as EXHIBIT A.
PROPERTY ADDRESS:
1145 W. Charter Way, Stockton, CA.
