At the completion of sampling operations, the soil borings will be thoroughly grouted from bottom to the surface with a cement/bentonite slurry pumped in the hole by use of a tremae pipe or flexible hose 8_ The monitoring wells will be drilled & sampled in the same manner as the soil borings down to the water table. After obtaining a core from the capillary fringe, each well be advanced to a minimum of 10 feet into the aquifer preparatory for completing as a groundwater monitoring well Recent data indicates that the water table is between 35' & 40' bgl 9. After augerxng operations are completed, and depth to water has been verified, 2" or 4'" internal flush, screw-joint blank & slotted PVC casing will be installed, sand packed, sealed & grouted as shown on the attached schematic, PLATE XII The tap of the perforated screen will extend a minimum of 5' above & 10 ' below, the water table. 10 . Each well will be fitted with a preformed surface vault, thoroughly cemented in place; casing will extend into vault a sufficient distance to allow installation of an expandable locking cap. The casing will be notched on the north side to facilitate measurements_ A metal cover rated for heavy traffic will be securely attached to the vault; it will be properly identified for future reference. 11 . Drill solids & unused core material wzll be placed in clearly labeled metal drums, tightly sealed, & stored on site pending the results of soil analyzes. 12. After completion of augering operations, the preserved soil & water samples will be transported under proper chain of custody to a State certified testing laboratory with i-nstructions to analyze soil samples for BTEX (EPA 8020, ) TPH--G (EPA 5030/8015M, ) and TRPH (EPA 3540/8015M ) A test for Halogenated Volatile organics (EPA 8010, ) will be run on samples from soil borings A & B, and monitoring wells 1 & 2. Water samples to be analyzed for BTEX (EPA 602, ) TPH-G (EPA 5030/8015M, ) & TRPH (EPA 3510/8015M. ) 13. Within 18-24 hours after completion, each well will be developed by swabbing with a hard rubber disc or suitable device for at least 15 minutes, or as directed. Fluids removed will be placed in properly labeled drums, securely sealed & stored on site. Method of disposal of contents will depend upon the results of laboratory analysis.
