(GTI), on your behalf for the above-referenced site.
The CAP was submitted in response to the EHD directive by letter dated 09 October 2012.
In the CAP, GTI proposes to implement Phase II of the remedial action plan over a period of
twelve to eighteen months which includes:
• Installation of 10 injection wells (IW-5 through IW-14) screened between 15 and 25 feet
below surface grade (bsg) at locations illustrated on Figure 4 of the CAP;
• Installation of 3 monitoring wells (MW-11 through MW-13) screened between 15 and 35
feet bsg at locations illustrated on Figure 4 of the CAP;
• Collection of soil samples at five-foot intervals for lithologic classification during the
advancement of the initial boreholes during installation of proposed injection and
monitoring wells followed by collection of soil samples at 10 and 20 feet bsg for field
observation and chemical analysis for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g)
and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) by a California certified
laboratory;
• Injection of between 7.5 and 12.5 percent hydrogen peroxide into the 14 proposed
injection wells over a two-day period on a weekly basis for the first month, and twice
monthly for the remaining eleven months of the year;
• Submittal of an addendum to the CAP to implement air sparging as an auxiliary remedial
method if site conditions limit hydrogen peroxide injection at specific wells or where
contaminant concentrations are low;
• Monthly measurement of dissolved oxygen (DO), oxygen-reduction potential (ORP) and
pH in groundwater from observation well OW-1, monitoring wells MW 5, MW 6, MW 9,
and proposed wells MW-11, MW-12 and MW-13 to monitor remediation;
