The plan is a proposal to inject a
solution of hydrogen peroxide to reduce petroleum hydrocarbon
concentrations in groundwater as a result of unauthorized releases from
the USTs which were located on the property. Hydrogen peroxide
decomposes to form oxygen, water and heat. Air sparging may also be
implemented to supplement the hydrogen peroxide remedial method.
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department has made a
tentative determination that the plan is in compliance with California Health
& Safety Code Chapter 6.7, Section 25299.37 and California Code of
Regulation Corrective Action Requirements, and that the resultant work will
not create significant adverse environmental impacts which exceed the
benefits to be gained from cleanup of the contamination.
The corrective action plan is available for public review at the San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Department office at 1868 East Hazelton
Avenue, Stockton, California during normal working hours, 8:00 a.m.
to 5:00 P.M.
Final approval for the plan is scheduled for February 19. 2013.
Questions should be directed to Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS, at (209)
468-9852 or sent in writing to her at the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department, 1868 East Hazelton Avenue,
Stockton, California 95205-6232.
