(GTI), and received on Geotracker
on April 20, 2009.
The original work plan was submitted to address residual soil mass and
delineation concerns raised by the EHD at the meeting held on September 17,
2008. Since that time GTI has evaluated cost savings methods and concluded
that using Geoprobe push point boring instead of using Cone Penetrometer
Testing (CPT) would provide similar data at a significant cost reduction. Nine
Geoprobe borings are proposed and up to six `contingency' Geoprobes may be
advanced if field screening indicates they are needed to further define the
petroleum impact. The EHD has evaluated the new Plan and concurs. The plan
to use Geoprobe boring instead of CPTs is adequate and approved. [H&S Code
25296.10(c)(3)].
The EHD has received and processed the Well Permit Application and the date
you requested to start the work, May 27, 2009 is acceptable. If contingency
boring(s) are needed east of Geoprobe 4, 7, or 9, an access agreement and an
additional application and fee will be needed to install contingency Geoprobes C-
2, C-3, and/or C-6 at 1145 W. Charter Way.
The report of findings for this phase is to be in the format of an updated site
conceptual model (SCM) and should be on Geotracker within 60 days of the last
Geoprobe boring installation. Please consolidate all GTI soil data into one table
that includes all of the boring, push point, and well installation soil data. Soil iso-
concentration maps are to be included for all constituents of concern. The
updated feasibility study is to be included in the SCM also.
