JM Equipment page 2
1245 W. Charter Way March 24, 2009
Stockton, CA 95206
Former borings GP-4 and GP-5 were installed in 2008 under the covering and although
only low levels of soil contamination were detected in each, the ground water grab
samples had elevated levels of petroleum, with the most northern boring, GP-4
encountering 35,000 micrograms per liter (ug/L) of total petroleum hydrocarbons as
gasoline (TPHg). The closest monitoring well to this point is MW-6 to the east; 119 ug/L
of TPHg were detected in this well for the November 2008 event. This area is not
characterized adequately and further investigation in required. The EHD requires that a
boring be installed north of proposed CPT-1 and northeast of former GP-4 and have a
ground water sample collected.
The Plan is approved with the above noted conditions. [H&SC 25296.10(c)(3)]. Please
submit a Well Permit Application Form and $404 fee by April 6, 2009. If contingency
boring(s) are needed east of CPT-5 or CPT-11 or CPT-16, an access agreement and an
additional application and fee will be needed to install CPT-6 and/or CPT-12 or CPT-17
at 1145 W. Charter Way.
The report of findings for this phase is to be in the format of an updated site conceptual
model (SCM) and should be on Geotracker within 60 days of the last CPT boring
installation. Please consolidate all GTI soil data into one table that includes all of the
boring, push point, and well installation soil data. Soil iso-concentration maps are to be
included also for all constituents of concern. The updated feasibility study is to be
included in the SCM also.
If you have any questions, you may contact Michael Infurna, at (209) 468-3454.
Michael J.
