Charter Way, Stockton, CA
Dear Ms. Kahler:
Geological Technics Inc. TI) submitted our March 10, 2005 "Additional Site Characterization"
work plan to San Joaquia County Public Health Department/Environmental Health Division
(SJC PHS/EHD) for review, comment and approval. SJC PHS/EHD issued an April 15, 2005
correspondence that requested additional information and denied approval of the work plan.
GTI has produced this adc endum to our work plan to addresses the points in the SJC PHS/EHD
letter(copy attached) in lil a numbered sequence:
1) SJC PHS/EHD comm nt:
"What was length of...hos ... inserted " into the injection well?
GTI response: The lengt i of the hose was —40' to allow the injection to take place across the
full length of MW-9's well screen (15 — 35'). It's length allowed five feet above grade to be
attached to pump, cylind r or ozone generator. As stated in Applied Process Technology's
(APT) September 20, 2001 pilot test report—page 4, section 4.4, the injection depths (bottom of
the inserted hose) ranged from 15 to 35 feet below grade surface (bgs). APT started with the
hose at the bottom of the N iell (ascertained by feel and hose length) and slowly withdrew the hose
over the injection period to the shallower impact depths.
2) SJC PHS/EHD comm nt:
"How did GTI verify that i iater vacated the well...?"
