Eq Lipment Company, 1245 West Charter Way, Stockton, CA <br /> County Site Code: 9401; USTCFP Claim#012607 <br /> Dear Mr. Munch: <br /> Starting with a letter fro n Mr. Joel Weiss, Engineering Geologist (CRWQCB-CVR), dated <br /> November 1, 1996, sever requests from both State and County regulatory agents requested the <br /> lateral and vertical exte of soil and groundwater contamination be defined on the J. M. <br /> Equipment property in St kton, California. <br /> On behalf of J. M. Equil ment, Geological Technics Inc. (GTI) has prepared a work plan in <br /> January 1997. Oversight agents have changed three times since then and so two addenda's to <br /> work plan have also bee prepared. On September 30, 1998, Mike Infurna of San Joaquin <br /> County has approved the F Ian and addenda's. <br /> In 1997, Geo Corp, property owners, applied to the Fund for reimbursement. That application <br /> was turned down because i t was determined that JM Equipment is the primary responsible entity. <br /> JM Equipment is under review for their LOC. <br /> Summary of Current Co rective Action Work <br /> 1. April 1996, Independent Trucking, the facility adjoining the subject property to the east, <br /> installed a monitoring well on Geo. Corp. property (operated by J.M. Equipment). This well <br /> discovered very high levels of gasoline contamination in the groundwater. <br /> 2. November 1, 1996, M 7. Joel Weiss, Engineering Geologist for CRWQCB-CVR requested a <br /> work plan be submitu d to delineate the lateral and vertical extent of soil and groundwater <br /> contaminated by gasol ne. <br /> 3. January 17, 1997 GTI submitted a work plan it to the CRWQCB-CVR and to San Joaquin <br /> County. <br /> 4. February 6, 1997,this ite was transferred to a new LOP with Site Code No.: 9401. <br /> 5. February 10, 1997, Linda Turkatte of SIC PHS/EHD reviewed GTI's work plan and <br /> requested additional w rk be performed to more thoroughly characterize the site. <br /> 6. March 1997, GTI personnel met with Geo. Corp. personnel to evaluate the county's request <br /> and plan for the additional work. <br /> 7. April 4, 1997, GTI su itted an addendum to the work plan. <br /> 8. April 9, 1997, Ms. Tur katte approved the work plan addendum. <br />
