Geolaykaf?edwics Enc. Page 2
Geo Corp
Project No.: 425.2
June 12, 1997
Proposed Direction of P o'ect
The work approved by th County is summarized below:
1. Drill and install 3 gr undwater monitoring wells to a depth of 30 feet to define the lateral
extent of groundwatei impacted by the gasoline. The vertical extent of contamination will be
addressed after this w rk has been performed.
2. Drill and install 5 sod boring to a depth of 20 feet to define the extent of soil impacted by
gasoline. The borehi iles are to be converted to vapor extraction wells for use during the
remedial phase of wet .
3. Perform soil and grou idwater testing for TPH-G, BTEX, MTBE.
4. Place wells on a q rly monitoring schedule for one year.
Listed below is a propose I schedule for implementing this project.
Proposed Bidding of Pr 'ect
To remain in compliance with the USTCFP, Geological Technics Inc. requested V&W Drilling
to drill and install 3 groundwater monitoring wells. GTI has found V&W to be very cost
effective for three prim reasons:
• reasonable charge ra e,
• fast drilling equipment,
• well trained crew.
These costs have been i luded in our budget spread sheet prepared giving estimated costs for
performing the work ap roved by SCDER. The budget spread sheet is attached and shows
itemized cost for the tas s proposed. In an attempt to make this Pre-Approval flow smoothly,
GTI has used the same unit costs for this work that has previously been approved by the
USTCFP for other projec s.
Geological Technics Inc . accepts field support services and lab invoices and adds a 15%
overhead fee. GTI then pays these charges. Construction contractors will invoice Geo Corp.
directly since Geological rechnics Inc. is not a licensed contractor.
Tentative Schedule for I mnlementineWork
Task Descriation Schedule
• Receive directive fro CRWQCB-CVR for corrective action work Nov 1, 1996
• Submit Site Charactei ization Work Plan& Addendum Apr 4, 1997
• Receive written apprc val of work& addendum from SJCEHD Apr 9, 1997
• Prepare USTCFP Co5 t Pre-Approval for work Jun 12, 1997
• Receive approval of c Dsts from USTCFP Jun 30, 1997
• Drill and install the 3 MW's& 5-SB's Jul 9-13, 1997
• Perform Summer G monitoring event Jul 20, 1997
• Prepare a Site Charac erization Report Aug 25, 1997
Thank you for your atten ion to this project.
