S
. Gtofoglcal7akntcsfxC Page 3
Revised Site Conceptual Model Report
I Project No.507.2
April 3,2008
that the California State Water Resources Control Board requires for submittal. This
document was dated February 4; 1997. Both of these two documents indicate that the date of
the release is "unknown" and copies are included in Appendix B.
2.2 Site Investigation
As outlined above in Section 1.0, the site investigation has consisted of several soil borings,
the installation of monitoring wells, and receptor well surveys. These efforts generated a
significant amount of data that will be summarized in the following sections:
2.2.1 Soil
{ Soil samples were collected from both the vadose and saturated zones. The data were used to
estimate the lateral and vertical extent of the contamination in the two media. Specific
analyses that have been utilized in the investigation include:
* Diesel range petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH-D)by EPA method 3540/8015(m)
• Gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH-G) by EPA method 5030/8015(m),
8260 a
• Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene and Xylene (BTEX)by EPA method 8020
• Lead by EPA method 6010, 7240 (for soil disposal)
f • Halogenated organics by EPA method 8010
The soil laboratory data generated during the investigation are summarized in Tables 1 and 2
f in Appendix A. Figure 2 contains the locations of the boreholes advanced in the current
investigation. Appendix C includes the borehole logs generated in the site investigation.
Select soil samples were also analyzed for geotechnical parameters by Cooper Testing Lab
Inc. and this data is included in the following table:
{
Sample Particle Size Distribution Soil
Gravel % Sand% Silt% Clay% Classification
MW-7 @ 20' - 18.8 46.7 34.5 SILT w/sand
MW-10 @ 25' - 7.3 59.0 33.7 SILT w/trace sand
MW-10 @ 30' 25.8 54.1 20.1 SILT w/sand
MW-109 @ 75' 3.0 55.3 41.7 CLAY silty
SB-6 @ 35' L 0.5 1 83.7 9.$ 1 6.0 1 Silty SAND
Sample Permeability Organics Density Porosity
{ cm/sec) % )
` MW-7 @ 20' 1 x 10E-7 2.1 99.5 43.08
MW-10 @ 25' 1 x 10E-6 1.6 90.5 48.18
MW-10 @ 30' 9 x 10E-7 1.3 93.9 46.24
MW-109 @ 75' 3 x 10E-6 2.0 82.5 52.75
SB-6 @ 35' 2 x 10E-4 0.8 103.8 38.42
i
