..r <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> Conestoga-Rovers & Associates (CRA) prepared this work plan on behalf of Equilon <br /> Enterprises dba Shell Oil Company US (Shell) for proper destruction of the monitoring <br /> wells at the former Shell service station locatE d at 1313 East Charter Way, in Stockton, <br /> California (Figures 1 and 2). This work plan was. requested in the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department (EHD) le fter dated April 6, 2011. The proposed <br /> scope of work is written to comply with San Joaquin County guidelines. <br /> The site is located on the northeast corner of the intersection of East Charter Way and <br /> Airport Way, in Stockton. The site is currently a fenced vacant lot. There are 9 <br /> groundwater monitoring wells associated with this site. Six of the wells are located <br /> onsite and 3 of the wells are located offsite. <br /> 2.0 WORK PLAN <br /> 2.1 PERMITS <br /> CRA will obtain well destruction permits from the EHD. <br /> 2.2 HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN HASP <br /> CRA will prepare a HASP to protect site workers. The plan will be kept on site during <br /> field activities and will be reviewed and signed by each site worker. <br /> 2.3 UTILITY CLEARANCE <br /> CRA will mark the proposed drilling locatio , and the locations will be cleared through <br /> Underground Service Alert and a private utility locating service prior to performing <br /> well destruction activities. <br /> 2.4 MONITORING WELL DESTRUCTION <br /> Nine groundwater monitoring wells exist at a site and need to be properly destroyed. <br /> CRA plans to destroy all of the wells (except W-1 and MW-6) by backfilling with grout <br /> per EHD well standards. The vault box for each well will be removed, and a hole 1 foot <br /> larger in diameter than the original borehole will be excavated to a depth of 3 feet below <br /> 241511(e) 1 CONESTOGA-ROVERS&AssocIATES <br />
