U1 +l
• CAMBRIA
analytical data collected from SB-1 shows that petroleum hydrocarbons are present in soil from
10 5 to 30 5 fbg, but not in the 40 5 and 50 5 fbg samples These data suggest the soil impact in
the vicinity of SB-1 is defined vertically The low levels of petroleum hydrocarbons detected in
the 70 fbg soil sample from SB-1 are likely due to the presence of petroleum hydrocarbon
impacted groundwater
The lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil is defined by borings SB-3 and SB4 These
borings were drilled approximately 15 feet away from SB-1 and SB-2, respectively No
petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples from SB-3 and SB-4, which suggests that
the lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in the vicinity of SB-1 and SB-2 extend less than 15
feet from these borings
Groundwater analytical data suggest there has been minor impact to groundwater The
groundwater sample from SB-1 contained 780 ppb TPHg, and low concentrations of toluene,
ethylbenzene, and xylenes The only other compound detected from the three groundwater
samples collected was 19 ppb of xylenes in SB-3 No fuel oxygenates or lead scavengers were
detected in these groundwater samples
RECOMMENDATION
The vertical and lateral extent of impacted soil has been delineated during this investigation and
groundwater impact is minimal at this site Due to the absence of benzene and fuel oxygenates in
the soil and groundwater beneath this site, Cambria believes that further assessment is not
warranted Further, we feel that this site should be considered for case closure
1511 5
