rl (w7
• CAMBRIA
30 5 fbg samples at concentrations of 810, 7,600, and 6,400 ppm No TPHg was detected to the
40 5 and the 50 5 fbg samples TPHg was detected at a concentration of 2 1 ppm in the 70 fbg
soil sample Benzene, fuel oxygenates, and lead scavengers were not detected in any of the other
soil samples from boring SB-I
Soil samples were collected from borings SB-2 through SB-4 at approximate depths of 10 5 (11
for SB-2), 20 5, 30 5, and 35 5 fbg None of these soil samples contained detectable levels of
TPHg, benzene, fuel oxygenates, or lead scavengers
The soil chemical analytical data are summarized in Table 2 and are presented on Figure 2 The
certified analytical reports for the soil samples are presented in Appendix C
HYDROCARBON DISTRIBUTION IN GROUNDWATER
Groundwater samples were collected from borings SB-1, SB-3, and SB-4 to evaluate the
presence of gasoline constituents in groundwater beneath the site The groundwater samples
were collected at 67 fbg, which was believed to be the depth of first encountered groundwater
beneath this site TPHg was detected in the groundwater sample collected from SB-1 at a
concentration of 780 parts per billion (ppb) Benzene, fuel oxygenates, and lead scavengers were
not detected in any of the groundwater samples collected
Groundwater data are summarized in Table 3 and are presented on Figure 3 The certified
analytical reports for the water samples are presented in Appendix C
CONCLUSIONS
The goal of this investigation was to delineate the vertical and lateral extent of petroleum
hydrocarbons previously detected in soil at this site and to assess impact to groundwater if
groundwater was encountered in the borings Borings SB-1 and SB-2 were drilled to assess the
vertical extent of soil impact at the location of the highest TPHg concentrations during site -
demolition Boring SB-3 and SB-4 were drilled adjacent to SB-1 and SB-2 to assess the lateral
extent of impacted soil Groundwater samples were collected to deternune if groundwater has
been impacted by gasoline constituents
The soil analytical data suggests there has been limited impact to soil Borings SB-2 through
SB-4 did not contain detectable levels of gasoline constituents, which suggests that soil impact is
linuted to the shallow impact observed during the site demolition sampling event The soil
1511 4
