The sign on the eyewash station <br /> states that the eyewash shall be tested weekly. According to Mr. Lumpkin, weekly testing is not being conducted <br /> and the equipment probably needs to be cleaned. He tested the eyewash at the time of inspection and dark brown <br /> water flowed from the eyewash for several seconds before becoming clear. All facility communications or alarm <br /> systems, fire protection equipment, spill control equipment, and decontamination equipment, where required, shall be <br /> tested and maintained as necessary to assure its proper operation in time of emergency. Immediately begin this <br /> practice. <br /> This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br /> 403 CCR 66265.173 Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or removing hazardous waste. <br /> A gallon can of old paint was observed on the floor of the paint room with no lid; according to Mr. Lumpkin, this paint <br /> should have been placed in the hazardous waste drum . All hazardous waste containers shall be closed at all times <br /> except when adding or removing waste. Immediately close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste <br /> containers are closed when not adding or removing waste. <br /> This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br /> 605 CCR 66262.34(f) Failed to completely label containers or tanks of hazardous waste. <br /> Two 55 gallon black steel drums of waste"waste, paint, solvent'were observed in the paint room with no physical <br /> state or hazardous property marked. A gallon can of old paint was observed on the floor of the paint room with no <br /> hazardous waste labeling; according to Mr. Lumpkin, this paint should have been placed in the hazardous waste <br /> drum. Four 55 gallon black steel drums and one 30 gallon black steel drum of waste sand blast media were observed <br /> outside the sand blaster with no hazardous waste labeling. Disposal records on site indicated that the sand blast <br /> waste is being disposed of as hazardous waste. All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following <br /> information: <br /> -the words "Hazardous Waste" <br /> - name and address of generator <br /> - hazardous properties (ignitable, corrosive, reactive, toxic) <br /> - physical state (liquid, solid) <br /> -composition (contents) <br /> - accumulation start date <br /> Immediately label these containers and ensure that all containers are marked with all the required information.
