Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Attn: Mr. Harlin Knoll
RE: ARCO Service Station #595
Hammer/Hwy 99
Stockton, CA
Dear Mr. Knoll :
We are requesting a review of the tank installation at 6100 N.
Hwy 99 at Hammer, Stockton, CA with the objective of having the
installation recognized as a double wall contained and monitored
system.
BACKGROUND
The tank and piping system was installed in December 1984 . The
system consist of 3 double wall Owens Corning Tanks, 3 Red Jacket
submerged turbin pumps with leak detectors, Ameron Fiberglass
primary piping, Hytrel secondary containment on all product lines
including the sub pump. The vent and vapor lines are Ameron
Fiberglass but are not contained in the Hytrel . There are four 4"
PVC slotted test wells located in each corner of the tank hole.
Originally the annular space of the tanks was monitored with an
Owens Corning water alarm but this proved to be inadequate and
was disconnected. After the initial installation, ball valves
were installed in the vapor lines adjacent to the Hytrel . Also an
offset fill has been installed at the south end of the super tank
with a ball valve on the super vent line. In addition OPW61SO
overfill prevention drop tubes have recently been installed on
all fills to prevent overfilling the tanks.
506 Glide Avenue • West Sacramento, California 95691 • (916) 372-2755
State Contractors License Number B-348937
