Failed to determine if waste is a hazardous waste (HW) . Currently facility's sole operation is to <br />receive already manufactured cheese from outside vendors, sheds, and packages for outside <br />distribution. Facility had once manufactured cheese from raw materials. Products were once routinely <br />tested for quality assurance and control. Facility is storing various chemical materials that were once <br />used in the laboratory for testing and the plant operation for production. Facility ceased production and <br />testing of cheese approximately 9 years ago. <br />- Laboratory (upstairs and downstairs), chemical storage closet: Methylene Blue Stain, pH electrode, <br />immersion oil, 0.1 N Sodium Hydroxide, Phenolphthalein Indicator Solution, Sodium Hydroxide 50% w/w <br />(expired 03/31/02), 0.1 N EDTA (expired 04/27/03), Sodium hydroxide solution Neutralizer, Potassium <br />Chloride, Sulfuric Acid babcock (milk), pH 1.07 Buffer solution, n -Butyl Alcohol <br />- Outdoors Milk receiving area: A brown paint can 128 fl. oz containing contents of oil and metals <br />- Outdoors Vinegar tank: 55 gallon poly white drums of Novelase B enzymatic cleaner and Shine acid <br />cleaner. three 55 gallon poly white drums of unknown <br />- Dryer Plant: a white 5 gallon poly container labeled as hydrogen peroxide on bottom shelf of metal <br />storage rack <br />- Outdoors Compressor area: a broken white poly container storing dark oily liquid and one large light <br />bulb found in a blue poly 55 gallon drum <br />- Outdoors Compressor area: Quincysep Oil/Water Separator is discharging oily yellow liquid into a 5 <br />gallon open container <br />- Outdoors Chemical Storage area: one 55 gallon poly white drum storing dark oily substance, two 55 <br />gallon poly blue drums of unknown contents; on spill pallet: 5 gallon white container storing yellow color <br />liquid, open 5 gallon yellow bucket storing 1/3 full of dark oily liquid <br />- Dry storage warehouse contains chemical substances formerly used in production is storing several <br />uncounted: boxes of Rennet Paste 64, bags of citrus acid, bags of gum stabilizers, 50 pounds bags of <br />caustic soda pearls, 55 gallon poly blue drums and 5 gallon containers of 12.5% sodium hypochlorite, 55 <br />gallon poly blue drums of 32% calcium chloride, 5 gallon containers of aqueous Charsol H-6 Hickory <br />(best used by 01/04, best used by 08/03), un -refrigerated twenty-four 5 gallon containers Marzyme <br />Supreme Microbial Rennet (best to stored refrigerated 40-45F) <br />- Outdoors Yellow cabinet by the maintenance office trailer: one gallon container old rusty containers of <br />tractor and implement enamel and white epoxy <br />- Outdoor Storage trailer: 5 gallon red container of 1 OW -30 motor oil <br />- Chemical Oil Shed: two 55 gallon black and white poly containers of Ammonia Solutions, six 55 gallons <br />blue poly containers of Chem -Aqua 150 Boiler Treatment, two 55 gallon black 55 gallon drums of dairy <br />streamline treatment 100 <br />ALL EHD STAFF TIME ASSOCIATED WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE. <br />THIS FACILITY IS SUBJECT TO REINSPECTION AT ANY WE AT EHD'S CURRENT HOURLY RATE. <br />EHD Inspector: Recei By: <br />Title: <br />Thuy Tran (209) 468-8257 ;1 <br />EHD 23-02-003 Rev 07/12/11 CONTINUATION FORM <br />
