Letter to Diane M. Hinson
March 26, 1992
Page Two
Groundwater for TPH analysis was collected using the bailer and
transferred into a 1 liter amber glass container. The sample
containers (VOA vial and 1-liter amber glass) were labeled with the
well number, date, time, sampler's initials, location and analysis
required, and delivered to Sequoia Analytical a few hours later.
Based on results of current and past groundwater sampling and
analyses of the monitoring wells on this property, Safeway requests
that future quarterly sampling events require no further BTEX and
Coliform analyses. Sampling and analysis for TPH will continue on
a quarterly basis until year end. If current low levels of TPH
continue, we will request cessation of all groundwater monitoring.
The elevation of static water levels indicate that groundwater is j
moving in a southerly direction as past measurements by ERM West
have shown.
I
The next round of quarterly sampling by ERM West isischeduled for
May, 1992, If you have any questions, please call me or Bill Spong
at ERM West.
Sincerely,
Melita Elmore GAG
Vice President
Environment, Health and Safety
cc: Don Christenson, Safeway Manufacturing
William A.
