Daniel Mcneer
Contamination Investigation Work
August 27,2004
time of sale. During our investigation, we detected low concentrations of gasoline contaminants in
soil and groundwater next to the underground fuel storage tanks at the site. Although we believe
that the contamination is limited to the area immediately adjacent to the tanks, the San Joaquin
County Health Department has requested that we evaltutte conditions further south from the tanks.
The area south of the tanks is required because that is the direction that groundwater flows and may
have carried gasoline contaminants. In order to accomp ish this task, we must install a groundwater
monitoring well on your property at 2430 Kettleman Lane. I have enclosed a map showing the
proposed well location.
Also, I have enclosed two tables that summarizes the concentrations of gasoline contaminants that
have been detected in the soil and monitoring well adjacent to the fuel tanks. These concentrations
are considered to be low, but it is required that the extent to which concentrations may have
migrated.be determined. Samples we test from this monitoring well will likely accomplish this
objective.
As I mentioned to you over the telephone, the work is being reviewed by Harlin Knoll of the San
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department. I am sure that Harlin will be happy to speak
with you. His phone number is (209)468-3442.
In order to minimize disturbances for any residences f the property, we would contact you to
schedule drilling activities during a time that would be convenient. Monitoring well installation
would only take one day and the well would be sampled 48 hours after completion. After that, we
would sample the well up to 4 times during the year.
If you have any questions regarding this project, please contact me at(916) 638-2765.
Sincerely,
DELTA ENVIRONMENT SULTANTS,INC.
ta-mes Brownell
ia Registered Geologist No. 5078
Enclosures
cc: Jeffrey Baker, Tesoro Environmental Resources Company
Harlin Knoll, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department.
Chuck Miller,USA Petroleum
