Turn on the exhaust hood fan. <br /> 2. Install a new recorder chart daily. This record of the <br /> actleal temperature of each numbered sutoclsve run is <br /> placed in the designated notebook along with the Autoclave <br /> Usage Sheet for that day. These records are kept in the <br /> technicians' office. <br /> Stert-up <br /> 1 . Check the by-pass valve to be sure that it is fully closed <br /> (turn clockwise to close). <br /> F <br /> 2. Check and if necessary adjust the temperature dial <br /> } (normally set for 121 %). <br /> - � 3. With the autoclave off and the door unlocked, press the <br /> MANUAL. RESET button and select the desired cycle (ie <br /> liquid, dry, etc.) . Allow the jacket pressure to rise <br /> above 10 psi (minimum) before starting a cycle. The <br /> autoclave heats to operating temperature in about eight <br /> i' minutes. <br /> t <br /> Changing Cycles <br /> A different cycle can be selected if the autoclave is on <br /> (HEATING pilot light on) but not running by pressing the <br /> MANUAL.
