Follow <br /> the Equipment Shut-Off procedure below. Easing open the <br /> bypass valve counterclockwise 1/4 turn will evacuate the <br /> chamber quickly, but it is not recommended to open the <br /> bypass valve until the chamber pressure drops below 10 pai. <br /> Initiating a Multi-Therm Cycle <br /> 1. 1f the autoclave is on (pilot light will indicate . <br /> "HEATING") but not running an an automatic cycle, press <br /> the MANUAL RESET button and then the OFF button. <br /> Z. Open bypass valve about 1/4 turn counterclockwise. <br /> 3. Set temperature control at 96-9@°C (red arrow). <br /> •4. Set timer for desired multi-therming time. <br /> 5. Load item(s) .into the chamber. <br /> 6. Close and lack the door, as above., <br /> 7. Press the red MULTI-THERM button. The cycle will run <br /> automatically with steam flowing through the chamber under <br /> norninal pressure. <br /> Emergency Shut-Down of Multi-Therm Cycle . <br /> 5 The multi-therm cycle may be terminated at any paint. Lift <br /> the cover panel on the upper right side of the autoclave <br /> (where the pilot lights and timer dials are located). Push <br /> the small white switch to the left. The cycle is now <br /> terminated. Check the chamber pressure to be sure that it is <br /> zero before opening the chamber. <br /> Specific_Sterilization Instructions <br /> 2 1 . Decontamination of inoculated plates, broth, dilution <br /> blanks, etc. normally requires a 90-minute liquid cycle. <br /> Z.
