Hendrix.
Hendrix Transport, Inc.
3730 Munford Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205
Subject: Review of Initial Well Installations, Chemical Testing and
Tank Removal Activities - Interim Work Plan for
Additional Site Investigations - Thomas E. Hendrix Site,
3734 Mumford Avenue, Stockton, CA
Dear Mr. Hendrix:
This letter report contains the results of our recent review and assessment of tank
removal, previous sail sampling, well installation and chemical analysis work for the site
awned by Thomas E. Hendrix on Munford Avenue in Stockton, California. This letter
also contains an interim work plan for additional investigations at the site based on the
data currently available.
SITE CONDITIONS
The Hendrix site (Site) is located east of Highway 99 at 3730 Munford Avenue
near Carpenter Road in the southeast part of Stockton, California. The site location is
shown on Figure 1.
One 1,000 gallon gasoline tank was removed in 1986 from the area of the Site
shown in Figure 1. Piping from the fill tube to the tank was also removed. Its' former
location is also shown in Figure 1. Minor leaks in the piping were reported by Mr.
Hendrix, but tank tests performed periodic-ally on the gas tank indicated no leakage.
Test boring information from work performed by Kleinfelder in 1986 suggests
silty clay to about ten feet; silty sand and sand to about 20 feet; and sandy, silty clay
from about 20 feet to 50 feet. At 50 feet, sand with some silty clay was encountered to
about 56 feet where first groundwater was found in the Kleinfelder well. Below 56 feet,
silty, sandyclay and sandy silt was found to the maximum depth of the boring at 76.5
feet. This well was installed directly beneath the removed fuel tank piping as shown in
Figure 1.
