3. SCOPE OF WORK
The objectives of this investigation are to:
- Define the vertical and horizontal distribution of gas plant
residues in soil and groundwater at the Tracy site.
- Identify the chemical composition of any gas plant residues
encountered at the Tracy site.
- Define those hydraulic characteristics of the uppermost aquifer
that would affect the movement of gas plant residues.
1 3542a/BAV102 6
-
Estimate the potential for migration of gas plant residues offsite.
The
field activities for this investigation are:
-
Collect, sample and analyze soil samples from approximately 30 shallow
and 1 deep soil borings.
-
Install four new monitoring wells.
-
Collect and analyze one round of groundwater samples from the four new
and six existing monitoring wells.
-
Perform three slug tests.
A final
report will be prepared for submittal to the appropriate state and
local
agencies. This report will include:
-
A description of the site, site history, and present site use.
-
Detailed boring logs for each borehole and as -built monitoring
well construction drawings.
-
A description of the regional and site-specific geology and
hydrogeology obtained from literature review and site boring logs.
-
A description of hydrologic characteristics of the uppermost aquifer,
based on aquifer tests (slug tests and water level measurements)
performed at selected monitoring wells.
-
An areal site map and cross-sectional maps identifying any areas which
contain gas plant residues.
-
Summary tables of laboratory analyses of soil and water samples,
and certified laboratory reports.
-
Quality control results, including validation of data collected.
'
-
An interpretation and discussion of the results.
1 3542a/BAV102 6
