(Repeat) Unable to determine the ength of storage of three universal waste fluorescent lamps <br /> in a cart at the shop, at least six lamps on the shelves and floor in the welding shop, five large open <br /> boxes of waste lamps with no start date of accumulation on the floor of the welding shop, and one <br /> unlabeled and open 5-gallon bucket of waste batteries (including one lead acid battery typically used for <br /> office power backup). These Universal wastes, including aerosol cans, lamps, alkaline batteries, <br /> mercury containing switches, CRT, electronic devices, etc. shall be stored in a closed container that <br /> prevents breakage and release to the environment, labeled to identify the type of Universal Waste and <br /> the initial date of accumulation, managed within one year of storage, and retained a copy of the disposal <br /> receipt for at least 3 years on site. Immediately begin labelling and close all universal wastes per this <br /> section. <br /> 809. (Repeat) Above referenced universal wastes (see #804, 808) were previously observed in the <br /> inspection conducted on June 16, 2011, and have therefore been on site more than one year. Universal <br /> Wastes may be accumulated on site no longer than one year. Immediately dispose of the universal <br /> wastes and submit a copy of the disposal receipt to EHD by 07/22/2012. <br /> 812. (Repeat) Copies of Universal Waste disposal records were not found on site. A copy of the <br /> disposal receipts of Universal Waste, including but not limited to lamps, alkaline batteries, mercury <br /> containing switches, CRT, and electronic devices, shall be retained on site available for inspection. <br /> Immediately locate a copy of all Universal Waste disposal records for the last three years, maintain them <br /> on site, and submit copies to the EHD by 07/22/2012. <br /> NOTES <br /> The facility generated less than 5 tons of hazardous waste in 2012 based on telephone interview with <br /> Ray Lopez, on site interview, and inspection observation. Facility generates hazardous wastes from <br /> building equipment maintenance. This is a follow-up inspection billable at current EHD hourly rate. <br /> Facility has returned to compliance for Item #8 of June 16, 2011 inspection report by activating the EPA <br /> ID .
