Immediately make a hazardous <br /> waste determination for the liquid contaminated with diesel, and manage it according the Title 22 hazardous waste <br /> regulations. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed. <br /> This is a repeat violation,Class II. <br /> 301 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste. <br /> Observed staining on the unpaved ground near the convault oil tank outside of the shop, indicating a release. <br /> Facilities shall be maintained and operated to minimize the possibility of a fire, explosion, or release of hazardous <br /> waste to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. Immediately clean the <br /> stained ground , and manage according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement and <br /> supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed. During the inspection,the facility personnel <br /> shoveled out the staining, and placed the waste in appropriate hazardous waste drum. <br /> This was corrected onsite. <br /> This is a repeat violation, Class ll. <br /> Overall Inspection Comments: <br /> Complete and submit a copy of the Return to Compliance Certification form to the EHD with a statement <br /> documenting the corrective actions that have been or will be taken for each violation, and any supporting <br /> paperwork, within 30 days of receipt of this report. <br /> Please be aware as of January 1, 2013, all businesses are required to submit all hazardous materials <br /> information online to the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS) at http://cers.calepa.ca.gov. Be <br /> sure to include your hazardous waste activity in the Businesses Activities section in CERS in addition to any <br /> other relevant activities and required fields. <br /> Note: <br /> Corrected onsite-The 55 gallon drums containing oil filters, and absorbent in the container storage area outside <br /> of the shop were observed with open lids. All hazardous waste containers shall be closed at all times except <br /> when adding or removing waste. Immediately close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste <br /> containers are closed when not adding or removing. Each drum was closed by facility personnel. <br /> Corrected onsite-The 55 gallon drum containing spent absorbent, and used paper filters were observed without <br /> a label.
