N'D� <br />DRAFT <br />June 23, 1986 <br />M E M O R A N D U M <br />TO: Stockton Metropolitan Airport Tenants <br />FROM: Dan DeAngelis <br />Assistant Airport Operations Manager <br />SUBJECT: Reopening of Aircraft Wash Rack Facility <br />As all of you are aware, the aircraft wash rack and evaporation pond <br />at Stockton Metropolitan Airport was closed and placed off limits <br />for the washing of all aircraft on January 29, 1986. <br />The closure of this facility was necessitated as a direct result of <br />new hazardous waste laws and regulations (The Toxic Pits Cleanup Act <br />of 1984) adopted and implemented by the State of California under <br />the California Health and Safety Code regulations. Furthermore, <br />this acition was taken as a precautionary measure to protect the <br />integrity of the evaporation pond while required laboratory tests of <br />the contents were being analyzed and forwarded to State Water <br />Quality Officials for their review and assessment. <br />After several months of coordination with State Water Quality <br />Officials, the Department of Aviation received notification that the <br />Aircraft Wash Rack and Water Evaporation Pond does not contain <br />hazardous materials above state detection limits. <br />Based upon the report and recommendations we received from the State <br />Water Quality Control Board, the Department of Aviation will reopen <br />
