Remediation Report - 152 East 11th Street, Tracy, California Page 17 entered into chain-of-custody control and packed on chemical ice for transport to Chromalab Inc 's laboratory in Pleasanton, California Each soil sample submitted to the laboratory was analyzed for the following suite of analytes Analyte Method of Analysis Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons EPA Method 5030/8015 (as Gasoline) Benzene EPA Method 8020 Toluene EPA Method 8020 Ethyl Benzene EPA Method 8020 Total Xylene Isomers EPA Method 8020 The results of the analyses are presented in Table 2 Copies of the certificate of analysis and chain of custody documentation are included in Appendix C The maximum concentration of total petroleum hydrocarbons detected in any of the representatiN e samples of the stockpiled soil was 2 5 mg/Kg This result was communicated to the staff of the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District (SJX,'APCD) who concluded that the concentrations of hydrocarbons affecting the soil was less than that of regulatory concern to that agency and, according to the provisions of District Rule 4651 '�,olatile Organic Compound Emissions from Decontamination of Soil, Section IV B - Limited Aeration (Ref 4) and as provided by Rule 2020 (Ref 5) a permit from the District would not be required to treat the stockpiled soil Estimated Number of Samples of Treated Soil Required The results obtained from the representatives samples of the stockpile were used to estimate the number of samples that would be required to demonstrate that, following treatment, the soil was free of detectable concentrations of components of gasoline The estimate was made in accordance with the procedures documented in Methods of f'ralualmg the A1rarnment of(Yeaiiiip Slandardsz T'ol 1 Soil% acid Solid Media published by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) (Ref 20)
