WORK IN PROGRESS <br /> The following work is in progress <br /> Remediation <br /> Subject to timely issuance of the requisite permits and authorizations to encroach on the <br /> public sidewalks and to cut-off and seal the sanitary sewer branch that serviced the site by <br /> the City of Tracy, the initial stages of the soil remediation work described in the CAP is <br /> scheduled to begin during the week of February 12th 1996 Thereafter, the progress of <br /> remediation will follow the general schedule presented in the CAP ,but variances from that <br /> schedule may be necessary, depending upon the actual conditions encountered in the <br /> subsurface during the process of excavation, the contingencies of weather and timely <br /> issuance by the CRWQCB of a permit to treat and discharge groundwater that it may be <br /> necessary to pump from the remedial excavation before that excavation can be backfilled <br /> An application for such permit was, as noted above, submitted to the CRWQCB during <br /> the period that is the subject of this status report <br /> Groundwater Quality Monitoring <br /> As noted above, a round of groundwater sampling and analysis was conducted at the <br /> subject site on November 15th 1995 according to the procedures and schedule established <br /> by the Groundwater Sampling Plan - pto.perty at 152 East 11 th. Street,_Tracy, California <br /> Supplemental samples were also recovered at that time to provide the necessary data to <br /> support an application for discharge of treated groundwater that is expected to be <br /> generated dunng the site remediation work that is defined to the Csur_ective_ Action Plan <br /> (ACI?.nded) - 52 East 11th. Street, Tracy California. that was approved by the SJCPHS <br /> on December 20th 1995 <br /> The approved CAP includes a post-remediation groundwater-quality monitoring plan The <br /> first element of that plan calls for a comprehensive round of groundwater sampling and <br /> analysis from all wells extant at that time (i a those presently existing wells that will <br /> remain after the remedial work is complete and others that will, in compliance with the <br /> CAP, be installed when the site is restored following backfilling of the remedial <br /> excavation) Based on current planning and scheduling estimates, it is expected that the <br /> first post-remediation round of groundwater quality monitoring will be performed in April <br /> 1996 <br /> Petroleum Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund Application <br /> The accounting and clerical work necessary to prepare and maintain the cost data and <br /> documentation required for periodic submittal of Standard Form Payment Requests under <br /> the Petroleum Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund in compliance with the <br /> CSWRCB's administrative rules is ongoing <br />
