Corrective Action Plan <br /> Page I7 <br /> In addition, to comply with the requirements of NPDES Permit No CA0082929, the <br /> samples from wells NAV 4 and NAV 6 will be analyzed for the following analytes <br /> Analyte Method of <br /> Analysis <br /> 1 Chlorinated Volatile Hydrocarbons EPA Method 601 <br />' Aromatic Volatile Hydrocarbons EPA Method 602 <br /> Chlorinated Pesticides EPA Method 608 <br /> iGeneral Mineral Analysis Including Specific Conductivity, Total <br /> Dissolved Solids, Chlorine, Sulfate, Nitrate <br />' and pH <br /> Note Samples of groundwater recovered from wells NAV 3, NAV 4 and NAV 6 on <br /> February 17th 1995 were analyzed for total lead and none was present at detectable <br /> concentrations The Certificates of Analysis and associated chain-of-custody <br /> documentation for those analyses are presented in Appendix B <br /> Excavation of Contaminated Soil <br /> Prior to any excavation at the site, the location of all buried utilities under the 152 East <br /> 11th Street property and under the sidewalks on the East I lth Street and "F" Street <br /> frontages will be located and their positions marked on the ground by the United Services <br /> Agency(U S A) <br />' All excavation work where the bottom of the excavation, at any point, is more than 3 ft <br /> below the exiting ground surface of the site will be under the direct observation and <br /> control of a California-licensed geotechnical engineer To reduce the risk of instability of <br />' the wall or floor of the excavation that might in any way threaten adjacent property, the <br /> engineer will have full authority, at her or his sole discretion, to direct the method and <br /> order of excavation, to limit any excavation with respect to its depth, or its areal extent, <br /> and to direct the order and method of working No contaminated or uncontaminated soil <br /> will be excavated except with the approval of the engineer <br />' Subject to the specific direction of the engineer overseeing the work on the site, it is <br /> proposed that the excavation work will be performed as described below <br /> Excavation will be initiated by careful removing the asphalt paving over the whole area of <br /> the property (see Figure 6 for property boundaries) This material will be transported off <br /> site for disposal at a re-cycling facility AN concrete in foundations and building slabs will <br /> be broken up and similarly transported off site to a re-cycling facility where it will be <br /> crushed to recover the reinforcing steel for re-cycling and reduce the matrix to a reusable <br /> fill material (Note Before any concrete leaves the site it will be inspected for the presence <br /> 1 <br />
