Corrective Action Plan Page 36 <br /> Gasoline vapors are not expected to accumulate in any area within the groundwater <br /> treatment enclosure and the applicable regulations do not require the electrical and <br /> electronic equipment located there to be certified for use in "hazardous locations" as such <br /> locations are defined in the National Electrical Code and the Uniform Fire Code <br /> In context, hazardous locations are defined as areas around outdoor equipment where <br /> flammable vapor-air mixtures may exist under normal operation " However, as previously <br /> described, as a safeguard against any unexpected fumes being present there, the noise- <br /> control enclosure that houses the air stripper is equipped with a forced-air ventilation <br /> system and all electrical equipment located in that enclosure is of explosion proof <br /> construction Similar conservatism is exercised with electronic equipment located in the <br /> well-head boxes and on the surge tank All electrical devices in those areas meet the <br /> requirements for Class I, Division 2 locations The conduits that carry power and signal <br /> lines from the control and distribution panels to the groundwater recovery wells are <br /> sealed to prevent any air that aught be affected by volatile compounds migrating through <br /> them All electrical panels and switch boxes comply with NEMA Class 3 specifications <br /> DISCHARGE OF TREATED GROUNDWATER <br /> The treated groundwater will be discharged via a 3 in diameter, ductile-iron pipeline <br /> running underground from the treatment system enclosure to the existing storm-water <br /> sewer on the adjacent property at 124 East 11th Street (See Figure 6 for locations of <br /> discharge line and storm sewer ) <br /> The discharge to the municipal storm water sewer will be subject to authorization by the <br /> City of Tracy Utilities Department and a Permit to Discharge issued by the CRWQCB <br /> under the provisions of NPDES Permit No CA0082929 <br /> Effluent Limitations <br /> The requirements of NPDES Permit No CA0082929 limit the concentrations of <br /> components of hydrocarbon fuels to the discharge from the groundwater treatment system <br /> to the following <br /> Constituent Concentration Limit <br /> 30-day Mean Daily Maximum <br /> Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons < 50 µg/Liter 100 jig/Liter <br /> Benzene < 0 5 µSQ- 5 µg�- <br /> iter iters <br /> Toluene < 0 5 µg/Liter 5 µg/Literl <br />
