Waste Oil is being stored and labeled in containers which <br /> formerly contained a corrosive acid. <br /> During your inspection, you observed empty barrels that had held oily water the <br /> day prior to your visit. Several barrels were of Poly Materials, and had at one <br /> time held Boiler Treatment Chemicals and/or Sulfuric Acid. These barrels had <br /> been"Triple Rinsed",and ready to return to the supplier prior to being used to <br /> hold waste oily water. There was no possibility that there was any mixing of <br /> incompatible materials. The problem was that the Maintenance Person who used <br /> the barrels did not obliterate or remove the original manufacturers label,before <br /> labeling and filling the container with the oily water. Since your inspection, the <br /> original manufacturers labels have either been obliterated or removed. <br /> 4 <br />
