BOMB THREAT REPORTING & SEARCH PLAN <br /> OBJECTIVES <br /> • Notify the departments and public safety agencies of the threat <br /> • Gather information from the departments regarding their search efforts <br /> • Determine what protective actions to take <br /> REPORTING . • <br /> 1. Writedown any information given about location,time, or motive for bomb threat <br /> g. as well as characteristics of caller. <br /> 2. Notify Department Head and Facility Threat Coordinator. <br /> PROCEDURESAREA SEARCH <br /> If contacted by the Facility Threat Coordinator or an Area Warden to search for a suspicious article,the <br /> senior department employee on each floor/area should take the following actions: <br /> 1. Alert department employees to search their department area for suspicious articles or articles <br /> that seem out of place. <br /> 2. Confirm the Department Head and FTC have been notified. <br /> 3. Remain at the designated emergency duty station to receive further <br /> 1o. communications from the Area Warden or FTC. <br /> 4. If an employee reports a suspicious article has been found, isolate the area and notify the Area <br /> Warden or FTC. Do not evacuate unless ordered to do so by the Area Warden or FTC. <br /> S. If no suspicious article is found,then notify the Area Warden or FTC that your department area <br /> is clear and await any further instructions at the designated location. <br /> ASSIGNMENTS <br /> FACILITY THREAT COORDINATOR <br /> 1. Ensure Police Department is notified using the 9-9-1-1 system. <br /> 2. Move to the Internal Command Post. <br /> 3. Direct Alerting Aides to notify Area Wardens of the threat and to initiate a search of the areas. <br /> Notify Area Wardens to use the telephone, not the radios. <br /> 4. Contact the person who received the threat and that person's supervisor. Request they report <br /> to the Internal Command Post with any notes regarding the threat. <br /> 5. Attend law enforcement interview of threat recipient. <br /> 6. Receive Area Warden report(s) regarding credibility of threat. <br /> 7. Make determination of further actions to be taken. <br /> 11 SJCPHS Emergency Plan—January 2019 <br />
