S. .+t <br /> Mr. Nathan Esformes - 3 - 1 December 1998 <br /> In addition to the reports required by Order No. 90-142,Triple E Produce Corporation is hereby required, <br /> pursuant to Section 13267 of the California Water Code, to submit by 15 January 1999 a technical <br /> report that shall include, at a minimum, the following: <br /> 1. A description and feasibility study of alternative methods for treatment and disposal of extracted <br /> groundwater to remove trihalomethanes in a manner other than by spray aeration treatment and <br /> disposal into the evaporation/infiltration pond, and a time schedule to design and install the chosen <br /> alternative and begin operation. <br /> 2. A description and feasibility study of alternative methods for extraction, treatment and disposal of <br /> groundwater at the downgradient edge of the chloroform plume so as to capture contamination <br /> adjacent to monitoring well MW-7, and a time schedule to design and install the chosen alternative <br /> and begin operation. <br /> Failure to submit any of the above reports by the due date constitutes further violations and may subject <br /> Triple E Produce Corporation,pursuant to Water Code Section 13268, to fines up to one thousand dollars <br /> ($1,000) for each day the reports are late. <br /> Once we have approved the alternative method for treating and disposing of contaminated groundwater <br /> other than by spray aeration and infiltration pond, and a method for extracting, treating and disposing of <br /> the downgradient contaminated groundwater, the Board will revise waste discharge requirements. <br /> If you have any questions regarding Order No. 90-142, you may contact Ms. Christine Holm at (916) <br /> 255-3024.
