TEL No . May 7 ,93 8:38 No .001 P .03
Triple B Produce Corporation
April 22, 1493
Page 2
These costs include design, installation, first-year
operating cost, year 2-5 operating costs and well. monitoring
(5 years) .
Triple E Produce has carefully studied the cost of capturing
AU of the groundwater contamination. The coat of this
alternative is clearly beyond the financial resources of
Triple E.
in an effort to respond to the Regional Boards concerns,
Triple E Produce has investigated other remediation
alternatives. one of these alternatives is bio- remediation
based on technology developed by Chemical Specialties
international. csi has advised Triple E Produce that,
through bio-remediation of the underlying groundwater, the
chloroform levels can be reduced to, or near, those levels
tentatively set by the Regional Board. Based on initial
estimates, the treatment cost of this bio-remediation
alternative appears to be within Triple E's available
financial resources.
Triple E produce would like to schedule a meeting as soon as
possible with the Regional_ Board and representatives of CSI
to explain this treatment technology in detail. At this
meeting we would like to determine if such an approach would
be acceptable to the Regional Board.
Triple E Produce is anxious to resolve this groundwater
treatment issue. We look forward to your response and to
scheduling a meeting with the Regional Board at the earliest
possible date.
If you have any questions, please call me at (209) 4741492.
Sincerely yours,
AGRO ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES
Robert Dixon, CP
Principal Agronomist
RCD/md
cc: Nate Eetorme8
Triple 9 Produce Corporation
