(Condor) requests your written
concurrence that monitor well MW-7 is not needed to monitor groundwater quality under Waste
Discharge Requirements Order No. 99-123. Triple E received a letter from Antonia Vorster, Groundwater
Cleanup Manager dated 25 March 2005, which provides that if Triple E Produce and the Non-Chapter 15
Section of the Regional Board determine that MW-7 is not needed, Triple E may proceed with permitted
destruction of the well in accordance with San Joaquin County procedures.
Well MW-7 was part of a groundwater remediation monitoring network regulated under Order No. R5-
2003-0806. The Regional Board previously directed other wells in the aquifer remediation project to be
destroyed, but MW-7 remained for a limited period of monitoring to assure adequate remediation had
been achieved. The well is located approximately 2,000 feet downgradient from well MW-1, contained in
Order No. 99-123, which regulates the discharge of Triple E's process wastewater. The attached map
shows the relationship between these wells and the predominant flow direction collected over ten years of
groundwater monitoring under previous Order No. 96-118. Well MW-7 was placed to monitor the extent
of a remediated plume and is of no practical use in monitoring current discharges upgradient of MW-1.
Please provide written confirmation that MW-7 is not needed for monitoring discharges under Order No.
99-123. Upon receipt of this confirmation, Triple E intends to proceed with permitted destruction of the
well through San Joaquin County. Thank you for your attention to this request.
Sincerely,
CONDOR EARTH TECHNOLOGIES, INC.
John H.
