Alternate 5, as described in the
amendment, extracts groundwater at the present rate and diverts as much flow as reasonably possible to
the water treatment plant before applying it to the apricot orchard spray field. The provisions of
Alternative 5 are in addition to those already contained in WDR 96-118.
The Monitoring and Reporting Program (MRP) of WDR 96-118 required monitoring of the treated
groundwater from the discharge side of the air stripping column (treatment plant) and prior to application
to the apricot orchard spray field. The MRP calls for weekly monitoring during the first month of
operation and monthly thereafter. Monitoring includes Flow (gpd), pH, Specific Conductivity (EC), and
Total Trihalomethanes (THMs).
Treatment of groundwater began on 10 May 1999. The weekly sampling has been completed. On behalf
of Triple E Produce, interim results for Total Trihalomethanes (THMs) and Chloroform are reported
below.
Analyte 5/12/99 5/20/99 5/28/99 6/4/99
THM (ug/L) ND ND ND ND
Chloroform (ug.L) ND ND ND ND
Analysis was done by GeoAnalytical Laboratoies, Modesto, California.
A complete report will be included in the Second Quarter 1999 Groundwater Monitoring Report which
will be prepared in July.
Sincerely,
ArJ *Ha r
Senior Hydrogeologist
cc: Mike Campos
Tom Guido
Robert Dixon
Mike Infurna
P:\0809\COR\ALT5 Interim Report.doc
ENVIRONMENTAL 0 GEOLOGICAL ENGINEERING GEOTECHNICAL
