Main Street PERMIT / SERVICES
Manteca, California
Dear Mr. Post:
At your request, BSK&Associates.(BSK)has prepared this workplan to conduct a soil boring
investigation at the above referenced site. The scope of work, based on discussions with you,
and with Mr. Jeff Wong of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental
Health Division(PHS-EHD), consists of advancing one soil boring through the former
underground storage tank(UST) excavation for the collection of soil and groundwater samples.
PURPOSE AND SCOPE
Analytical results of a soil sample obtained from the bottom of the excavation of a waste oil UST
indicated that methyl tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE)remained in soil beneath the former UST at a
concentration of 6.5 µg/kg, ata depth of approximately 12 feet below ground surface (bgs). The
purpose of the soil boring investigation will be to obtain dataxegarding the vertical migration of
waste oil constituents, and data regarding impact to groundwater. Groundwater is anticipated to
be 14 to 17 feet bgs in the vicinity the site.
METHODOLOGY
This workplan includes descriptions of methodologies anticipated for conducting the soil boring
investigation.
Project Planning and Permitting
BSK will obtain one soil boring permit from the PHS-EHD. The site is currently under an active
Underground Service Alert ticket. URSA Engineering will keep the ticket active until their
project is completed.
Geotechnical Engineering o Engineering Geology - Environmental Services o Construction Inspection &Testing Analytical Testing
