contractor shall provide a health and safety plan for its employees covering exposure to <br /> hazardous materials and shall complete work in accordance with that plan. BSK reserves the <br /> right to review and approve each contractor's plan at any time. <br /> BSK reserves the right to suspend the contractor's site work and ask the contractor's personnel to <br /> evacuate the hazard area in the event of grossly inadequate health and safety precautions on the <br /> part of the contractor, or if the BSK Site Safety Officer believes that the contractor's personnel <br /> are, or may be exposed to an immediate health hazard. <br /> The contractor shall provide its own safety equipment in accordance with its health and safety <br /> plan requirements. The contractor will comply with all regulations, including OSHA 29 CFR <br /> 1910.134 (Respiratory Protection) and 29 CFR 1910.120 (Hazardous Waste Operations). <br /> 4.0 PROJECT RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> BSK will have site safety and health oversight and coordination responsibilities; however, each <br /> contractor and subcontractor will be held accountable for the safe and healthful performance of <br /> work by each of their employees, subcontractor, or support personnel who may enter the site. <br /> The contractor and subcontractors involved in handling contaminated soils shall be responsible <br /> for the compliance of their visitors, subcontractors, and suppliers/vendors,while on the work site <br /> and in the conduct of BSK contracts,with the minimum standards set forth by OSHA and by the <br /> contractor's or subcontractors' site health and safety plans. Specific operations not covered in <br /> this plan will be governed by other applicable local, state and federal regulations. The contractor <br /> and subcontractors are required to know and comply with the safety regulations which apply to <br /> their operations. <br /> The provisions of this health and safety plan along with the applicable regulations issued by <br /> governmental entities will be adhered to by BSK. <br /> 4.1 Project Manager(BSK& Associates) <br /> The Project Manager(PM) shall direct on-site investigations and operational efforts. The PM <br /> may delegate all or part of these duties to the Site Safety Officer(SSO). At the site, the PM <br /> and/or the SSO has primary responsibility for: : <br /> 1) Maintaining appropriate personal protective equipment, making sure it is <br /> available and properly utilized by on-site personnel; <br /> 2) Advising personnel of the provisions of this plan, instructing them in the work <br /> practices necessary for safety, and familiarizing them with planned procedures for <br /> dealing with emergencies; <br /> A-2 <br /> r <br />
