The subject site is a former Exxon <br /> gasoline filling station. Underground fuel tanks were removed <br /> and associated pits backfilled in 1974 (See Appendix B) . The <br /> topography is level. <br /> The site location and description referred to herein is based on <br /> a site reconnaissance performed by a representative of YOUNGDAHL <br /> & ASSOCIATES, INC. , and on a tentative map provided by the <br /> �., client. This map is the basis for our "Site Plan", Figure No. 1, <br /> Appendix A. <br /> i - <br /> SOILS <br /> During site reconnaissance and soils study conducted by YOUNGDAHL <br /> & ASSOCIATES, INC. , the native in-place subject site soils were <br /> .s identified as clays, silts, and sands. Tank pit back-fill. <br /> i materials were silty sands. <br /> REVIEW OF REGULATORY INFORMATION <br /> Review of regulatory agency information revealed an underground <br /> tank removal permit filed with the Stockton City Fire Department <br /> dated 5 February 1974 (See appendix B) . The permit states that 4 <br /> .,_ underground tanks were removed. The tanks consisted of one 550 <br /> gallon waste oil tank, one 4000 gallon, and two 3000 gallon fuel <br /> tanks. <br /> INTERVIEWS <br /> On 21 May 1990 a telephone interview was conducted with Ms. Candy <br /> Catlett of the Stockton City Fire Department. She stated that <br /> Permit #k1679 dated 25 February 1974 was filed for an Exxon <br /> gasoline station at 140 Harding Way. That 4 tanks had been <br /> removed. <br /> On 22 May 1990 a telephone interview was conducted with• Ms. <br /> i <br /> Melaaie .Smit ; of the Public Information office of Exxon Inc. <br /> She stated that Exxon's corporate offices didn't maintain records <br /> of products sold by company stores from as far back as .1974, and <br /> that only the district office would have such records. <br /> On 22 May 1990 a telephone interview was conducted with Mr. <br /> victor Vasquez, of the Northern California District Office, Exxon <br /> Inc. He stated that they didn't have records of the products <br /> sold at the company store at 140 Harding Way in Stockton. <br />
