Y y 1 + r • Quarterly Report - First Quarter 2001 FORMER CHASE CHEVROLET (MANSON)TACILITY57 ` 423 North Madison Street Stockton, California 1 0., INTRODUCTION At the request of Mr Jeffery B Setness of Jeffrey B Setness Professional Law Corp , Advanced ' Geo Environmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this quarterly report summanzing field,activities, ° performed during the first quarter of 2001 at 423 North Madison Street, Stockton, California The scope of work performed on the site for the quarter included disposal of purge water, monitoring concentrations of dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons in ground water on the site, installation of two ground water extraction wells, excavation of contaminated soil from the former UST No 1 location and preparation of this report The site setting is illustrated in Figure 1 Structures and monitonng well locations are illustrated in Figure 2 t ' Site background information was surrimarized in Revised Corrective Action Plan- February 1997, Site Investigation Report- UST No 8,dated 10 February 1998 and Quarterly Report-August 1998, prepared by AGE 2.0. PROCEDURES lie On 12 January 2001,non-hazardous,purge water generated dunng groundwater monitoring activities was disposed In addition, sludge and waste water was pumped from a three-stage-clanfier and disposed On 28 February 2001, ground water monitoring and sampling were performed at the site ` on wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-4, MW-13, MW-19A MW-19B, MW-20A, MW-20B, MW-21A and MW-21 B in accordance with the revised monitoring schedule established at a 03 April 1998 meeting I with the San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD) Samples collected from MW-21A and MW-21B were submitted for physicochemical and microbiological analyses On 14 March 2001,two ground water extraction wells were installed near the former UST No 8 location Approximately 110 cubic yards of soil were excavated from the former UST No 1 tank location on 21 March 2001 1 1 Field activities were performed in accordance with guidelines established by the Regional Water _ Quality Control Board - Central Valley Region (RWQCB) and by the PHS-EHD for investigation ' of underground storage tank (UST) sites and sampling of ground water monitoring wells ' 2 1 THREE-STAGE CLARIFIER/PURGE WATER WASTE DISPOSAL - On 12 January 2001, approximately 125 gallons of sludge were pumped from a three'-stage clarifier ' formerly utilized for treating effluent generated during steam cleaning and vehicle washing activities 4 . related to operation of the repair facility Additionally, 730 gallons of non-hazardous purge water was pumped from on-site 55-gallon drums The purge water was generated during ground water Advanced CeoDivironmental,Inc i I r
