FINDINGS
s
4 1 RELATIVE GROUND WATER ELEVATION AND GRADIENT
The relative elevation of ground water in each well was calculated by subtracting the depth to water
from the surveyed relative casing elevation (Table 1) Ground water rose an average of 3 70 feet
between December 1994 and May 1995 The approximate gradient was calculated to be 0 0042 Rift
with a northern flow direction (Figure 3) The gradient and flow direction are very similar to that
calculated for December 1994
4 2 LABORATORY REPORT OF GROUND WA MR MONITORING
TPH-g was detected in samples from MW-1 and MW-4 at concentrations of 560 ppb and 150 ppb,
' respectively Benzene and toluene were detected in MW-1 at concentrations of 13 ppb and 37,ppb,
respectively Ethylbenzene was detected in MW-1, MW-4 and MW-5 at concentrations of 25 ppb,
0 71 ppb and 0 73 ppb, respectively Xylenes were detected in MW-1, MW-4 and MW-5 at
' concentrations of 140 ppb, 2 8 ppb and 4 8 ppb, respectively Petroleum hydrocarbons were not
detected in samples from MW-2 or MW-8 The analytical results are summarized on Table 2 The
laboratory report and chain-of-custody form are included in Appendix B
43 STRATIGRAPHY
'
Clays were encountered from the surface to depths of approximately 8 feet Silts were encountered
Y P pP Y
from 8 feet to approximately 15 to 20 feet with increasing grain size downward Silty sands were
encountered from below the silts to approximately 24 feet Larger grained silty sands were
encountered from approximately 24 feet to the bottom of the probings(25 5 feet)
I '
r
